Celtic's Nakamura celebrates scoring against Manchester United during their Champions League soccer match in Glasgow,Scotland

Shunsuke Nakamura

When i think of the 4 year spell Shunsuke Nakamura had at Celtic it always lights up my day ,like other greats in the modern Celtic era aka Ľubomír Moravčík or Henrik Larsson these players remind us Celtic fans that were privileged not only to support Scotland’s most succesful and famous club but we get to see some of the finest footballers on the planet pull on the green and white hooped shirt…

Shunsuke Nakamura is and was one of those players ,naturally gifted as a footballer the Japanese playmaker came to Celtic and like many fans im sure id never really heard of him ,but seeing him being introduced to the crowd..he stood there taking it all in ,and at that point I think his love affair with the hoops began,if we didn’t know the guy then we were sure in for a treat because from day 1 he terrorized Opposition defences, with his direct style of play…

My most memorable moments will be like most others notably his goals against Manchester Utd home and away in the champions league  and his free kicks against Kilmarnock in the premier league one of which  to win the title ,also his stunner against Rangers at ibrox, goals apart Shunsuke Nakamuras main attribute was to create and he did this in abundance ,his setup play was wizard like and its the kind of stuff fans dream off when watching a match….

I’ve added some you tube clips on the post and some links to stuff that show the guys genius as a footballer ,he was a player i was privileged to see as a Celtic fan ,and when I tell my grandkids about Celtic its players like naka that will have them sitting up paying attention ,in Celtics history there’s an elite number of individuals who’s names run off the tongue because our memories we hold dear Shunsuke Nakamura is one such guy HH
